Independence day is easily my favorite holiday. I just love the USA so dang much. Really though, I have a Rosie the Riveter pin on my wallet, okay? This year one of my dreams came true (okay not really but it was cool) and I got to be in St. George's 4th of July Parade for being on the royalty. We were in our formals with crown & banner and rode on the SWAT team's (who knew stg had a swat team?) new REVA straight from the army in Afghanistan. It was probably one of the coolest things I've ever done. Afterward, we walked around the festivities at the Vernon Werthen taking pictures with little girls and basically feeling like celebrities. I could pretend to be all humble but I'm not gonna lie, besides the fact that I don't think I've ever sweat so much in my life--tmi?-- I was totally loving it. That night we had a BBQ at our house because I mean really it would not be Independence Day without a good BBQ. Then we headed to Tuacahn to see Aladdin. Oh my word. Tuacahn outdoes itself every year, I swear. Don't worry, they had a big firework show at the end so we didn't miss out on the best part of the holiday or anything. Thanks for being great America. I sure do love you. Like Toby Keith says, every day's Independence Day.
Good ol' Mayor Dan
Can you tell I'm a little excited? What a cheeser
