lots and lots of love from London

Even though we can't date on Study Abroad we figured our Valentines Day would be one of a kind, living in London and all. Boy were we right, just not in the way we thought... we're going to see Oedipus. Probably the worst possible play you could go to on Valentines Day. It gets better though--it's in Greek. Hahah. Obviously we had to take matters into our own hands and move Valentines Day to Saturday February 9th (close enough).
So, here is the story of my favorite Valentines Day up to this point in my life (aside from the year Rory Mellor was my Valentine for obvious reasons).
Last week half of us creatively/sneakily asked the other half to be our Valentines. No one knew who had asked who and everyone was anticipating the big surprise. On Saturday the Centre was buzzing with excitement. We all got ready about two hours early because we were just that excited. The house was just a little crazy. Sometimes I feel really bad for the 3 boys who have to live with us 40 girls.
4:30 finally rolled around.
The askers were in the library and the askees were in the parlor. Everyone was all dressed up and us askers had flowers and chocolates. One by one the secret admirerers were revealed to their Valentines--we screamed, hugged, laughed, and were photographed/videod like we were famous. Even our sweet professors and their wives, who we adore, joined in the celebration. We are seriously one big, crazy, happy family and I absolutely love it.
We headed to the dining room that was decked out Valentines style and had a lovely pizza party, crisps included. That's chips for all you Americans reading this.
After dinner we had London's best gelato, crepes, and waffles and interrogated each other so we could win the Newlywed game later that night. The Newlywed game was probably my favorite part, especially when our professors and their wives played.
This was probably my favorite night here in London so far. We have such a good group and I love how close we all already are. Sorry to everyone else who has lived at the London Centre we definitely have the best group that has been here.
Peace and love from London.
xoxo
