I almost started by saying "It's wedding season!" Then I quickly realized that basically our whole married life has been wedding season. I think we've gone to weddings at least monthly since we've been married. And don't get me wrong, I LOVE IT. I'm even more grateful though that B also loves it! I never thought anyone could love weddings as much as I do until I met him. Match made in heaven, right? :) Don't you just love weddings? I love being a part of someone's first day of forever and it's one of the few places you can go where everyone is happy! Plus, who doesn't love dressing up and eating cake?? I don't know, maybe I'm crazy.
Anyway, we've gladly spent the past two weekends at Bowers/Steel wedding celebrations! First was their wedding in the Salt Lake temple (one of my favorite temples if I'm allowed to say that). I love temple weddings. They remind me that there is so much more meaning to life than the mundane everyday things we go through and that my marriage and family are the most important thing. I'm also reminded of the day B and I were sealed and of the Spirit that I felt there unlike anything else. I definitely know that families are eternal and I am so grateful for that knowledge in this crazy world.
After the wedding I definitely cried as I gave a little 'speech' at their luncheon. I would go into detail about how AMAZING Jasmyn is and how much I love her but I would probably start crying again and might not even be able to finish this post. Just know that we served as mission companions together and dreamed about our future marriages and families a lot so this was an exciting day for us :) Yes, us.
The wedding bliss didn't end there, though!
Last weekend we traveled to Wendell, Idaho where the Steels had their reception. They even had a soft serve ice cream machine. It just doesn't get much better than that. After the reception B and I headed to Boise to spend Sunday with my brother and his family. My mom also just happened to be in town for a sisters weekend so that was an extra blessing! We spent Sunday surrounded by family, eating way too much good food, playing nerf football, and not wanting to ever leave! I think the love I have for weddings is only topped by the love I have for my family!
I'll end with this quote I read for one of my classes this week.
"In real life, love is much more than a feeling. It is a long series of decisions to be together and give to one another, a commitment to work together to build a shared life, a day to day involvement that changes who we are as people Love involves your entire being’ your love for someone is a part of you because it involves your feelings, your thoughts, and your actions.” - Blaine J. Fowers
Happy (never ending and I'm not complaining) wedding season! Can't wait to post about the THREE weddings we have next weekend :)
