dressing my bump [Pink Blush Maternity Giveaway]

In high school my friends and I used to talk about how excited we were to be pregnant someday so that we could dress all stylish and be "really cute pregnant ladies." You know the ones. Those women who somehow manage to look like they've stepped out of a magazine even with an 8 or 9 month pregnant belly. For some reason that was something that really excited us, haha.
Fast forward a few years.
I'm now pregnant with my first baby! However, the difficulty of dressing a pregnant body hit from about month one. Even before I had a bump to work around, my tummy was hard to work with when it came to getting dressed. Anything that fit too snugly was not happening with the constant nausea I felt. So, for the first few months of pregnancy I stuck to nightgowns. Very fashion forward haha. And if I absolutely had to leave the house, I would wear leggings and a big sweatshirt, usually something of Ben's. Not much better than the nightgowns :)
When I started feeling better and getting past the nausea, I was starting to show and my faith that I might be able to look somewhat "cute" was renewed. However, my check for buying a new wardrobe of maternity clothing unfortunately never showed up in the mail, haha. I decided I would make do with what I had and ended up wearing my baggiest clothes, and sweats, for a few months. This was not exactly what I was imagining in high school when I daydreamed about being a cute pregnant lady. As my tummy grew and grew and fewer and fewer of my old clothes were fitting, I decided I would invest in a few pieces of maternity clothing that I loved so that I could experience feeling like a cute pregnant lady at least a few times. Where did I head? Straight to Pink Blush Maternity.

Cute maternity clothes can be hard to find (trust me, I've searched), but there is no lack of them at Pink Blush!! I've actually had my eye on a few things at their shop since before I was pregnant, haha, and was SO excited when I finally had a reason to buy them (even though I actually just found out they have adorable women's clothing too!! Score!)! In my Pink Blush Maternity Dress I finally feel like a cute pregnant lady! It can be really hard to feel that way when you're constantly gaining weight, sore all over, and can't see your toes (or even your feet) past your huge belly. But Pink Blush has done it. Their clothes are seriously so cute, and comfortable (HUGE plus when you're prego!) and they make me want to get dressed and go out!! Not much does that for me these days :)

This adorable peach open lace maternity dress  was the perfect find. First of all, it's so pretty. But it's also light and comfy, which I'm all about these days. I can dress it up for church or make it more casual for running errands with my hubby. I also love that I can wear it with a belt after I'm pregnant.  I'm so grateful I decided to invest in a few pieces of maternity clothing! I feel so much better about myself and have finally somewhat fulfilled my dream of being a "cute pregnant lady" even if it is only a few times a week when I'm wearing my Pink Blush Dress :)

Pink Blush also has baby accessories, robes, and nursing clothing which I can't wait to get my hands on in a few weeks! They have a Memorial Day sale going on right now and you can get 30% off sitewide! Just be sure to use the code STARSNSTRIPES at checkout. Better yet, I've teamed up with Pink Blush to give one of my lucky readers a $75 gift card to their shop**!! Head over to my shop's Instagram account to enter! And be sure to spread the word to all of your pregnant, nursing, and mama friends :)
