Be a STAR

For anyone who doesn't know, I'm an FCCLA (family, career, and community leaders of America) officer at my school.  This week we had a STAR competition at SUU. A STAR competition is an event for FCCLA officers and students with about 20 categories to compete in.  You make a project, then you get intereviewed about it at the competition.  My category was Recycle and Redesign, so I decided to make a T-Shirt quilt.  Our school got a late start on our projects, so i basically threw this quilt together in a week.. it was A LOT of work! But, it paid off! In each category the contestants can recieve gold, silver, or bronze depending on their score from the judges, and I was one of only two in my category (which was the largest category) to receive gold! yes! So, now I go onto state in March, and if I win there I get to go to Nationals in Anaheim :) Wish me luck!
