After 13 years of public education, I finally made it. On May 23rd, 2012 I graduated!! I've been waiting for this day my whole life and when it came it was so surreal. I tried to take it all in and make it meaningful, but honestly it was all kind of a whirlwind. However, my wonderful family all came and supported me and I couldn't have asked for a better day. I thought I would be a hot mess during the ceremony since I've been so emotional lately, but I was cool as a cucumber. Until it ended, that is, the second we threw our caps and I ran to hug my best friend, I lost it. Seriously, I was sobbing uncontrollably. I'm pretty sure everyone was thinking I was crazy at that point since it was basically the happiest day of all of our lives, but what can I say I am my mother's daughter. After a million pictures, a delicious family dinner, and scoring in the present department, I headed off to grad night! Although being locked in the school from 9 pm.- 6 am. might not sound like every graduates dream, it was the perfect way to end graduation. I was in a plane crash, jumped off the bleachers and swung above the gym, played beer pong, got a tattoo, and participated in the Olympics all in one night.
