Our Ellie girl is 2 months old!! She is such a sweet girl and I think to myself at least once a day, "I wish she could stay at this stage forever!" I just love this tiny girl so much!!!!
At 2 months, Ellie:
- Weighs 10 lbs. 5 oz. and is 22 and 1/4 inches long (yay, she's growing!)
- Is still told she looks like her daddy but her hair is lightening up a ton so I'm still holding out hope that she'll look like me too ;)
- Is so alert!! If she's awake (most of the day she is!) she's WIDE awake. Our bright eyed girl is very curious and playful. She loves to check out everything that is going on around her and to interact with anyone who will give her attention, especially mom and dad :)
- Going off of that^^ Ellie is a very smiley, talkative girl! She has the BEST smiles and loves to tell stories. Ben and I can't get enough of it. She's the happiest right after she finishes eating and we love to spend a little time hanging out and talking after each meal :)
- Her goopy eyes and rashy face are clearing up and are almost completely gone! Yay!
- Has the best (saddest) pouty face. If she isn't getting enough attention or is getting sleepy she'll stick her bottom lip out and melt your heart. Then she starts making sad little noises and whimpering and you're just completely a pile of mush. Ben and I would literally give her anything she asked for if she could talk haha and so it begins!!!
- Loves to be outside! If she's fussy I'll walk outside with her and she's (usually) instantly calmed down. If we walk back inside she'll fuss again so we spend a lot of time walking up and down the porch when she's sleepy :)
- Is the BEST EVER SLEEPER. She's been sleeping through the night for a few weeks and it is heaven! Thank you, Ellie!!!
- Is still a super slow eater. Every single feeding is an hour long--longer if it's her last feeding of the night. But I just love being with her and I'm grateful that I'm able to nurse her so I'm not complaining!
- Is a great pooper. Hahahah. Really though, she goes multiple times a day. We go through a lot of diapers and wipes around here :)
- Decided she is not a fan of the car seat. This made our road trip last weekend a pretty long one and we're planning on staying in town for as long as we possibly can ;)
- Is great at holding her head up. She loves to look around and see what's going on!
- Loves to look in the mirror. She's a big fan of herself even though I don't think she even knows she's looking at herself yet :)
- Loves to stand up! While we're holding her, of course. Once she's in standing position she basically locks her legs and won't let you put her in sitting position!
- Is sooooo drooly! She's really good at blowing spit bubbles too :)
- Got her first round of shots! Ben and I were a wreck. When we were waiting for the nurse to come in we were both wishing we could take the shots for her and we considered leaving the room so we wouldn't have to watch! But of course we couldn't do that so we handed over our baby, held onto each other, and had our hearts broken as we heard her cry the SADDEST cry she has ever cried!!! I picked her up off the bed and instantly my eyes were filled with tears. I can't imagine anything worse than a shot ever happening to her! :(
- Is getting better at being content laying down when she's awake or hanging out in the swing for a little bit while I try to accomplish something (as opposed to constantly holding her)
- is my little bestie! I love spending literally all day every day with this sweet girl while daddy works, coaches, and goes to school (we are SO grateful for him and how hard he works for our family!!!) I'm so grateful that I can stay home with my baby girl and that we're already developing a bond unlike anything else I've ever experienced. It's crazy to be the mom and to see that the 'mother's touch' is a real thing and that I actually have it (haha). I love that she wants me to hold her when she's sad. I was so uncertain of myself and my ability to be a good mom when Ellie was born. I was seriously scared to be alone with her because I just felt so inadequate. I'm so grateful that because of Jesus Christ I was able to turn that weakness into a strength. I prayed so hard that I would be able to be the mom that Ellie needs and He helps me every day to grow and to become that! I know I still have a long way to go but I wouldn't be anywhere near where I am without HIM! Being Ellie's mom is the greatest blessing!
Happy 2 Months Ellie! We love you SO MUCH. More than you'll ever know!
xoxoxo

Sweet girl! I'm kind of jealous about the sleeping situation, none of my kids slept through the night that young!
