Bumpdate | Week 26-27

Size of baby: She's about the size of a rutabaga! Whatever in the world that is!

Looking forward to: Our baby shower!! My sisters and mama are so sweet to throw me a shower and I am so excited to celebrate little miss. My sister made the cutest invitations and sent them to me this week so I've had a lot of fun putting them together this weekend! Having the shower makes having the baby feel a lot more real!

Random: I SURVIVED MY GLUCOSE TEST! Yes, I am very proud of myself. Haha. I've heard pretty terrible things about the glucose test and have honestly been dreading it for the past 26 weeks. I'm a picky eater (and drinker?) and even the thought of blood and/or needles makes me woozy. So you can imagine my fear when I knew I'd be drinking a supposedly nightmarish drink and then going to get my blood drawn. Nerves through the roof! Anyway, the drink wasn't nearly as bad as I'd imagined it. It tasted like an orange soda with about a cup of sugar poured into it, but hey I'm not one to dislike sugary things :) And Ben talked to me the whole time I was getting my blood drawn. No big deal! We celebrated with $1 chicken sandwiches from BK :)

Best moment of the week: I've started putting baby girl's room together! I know, I still have three months until she gets here, but I'm honestly proud of myself for waiting this long! Really all I did was clean out all of my clothes and things that were in there and move her new changing table (we bought a changing table--our first furniture purchase of our marriage! woot woot!) next to her crib. I also organized her dresser and all of her other miscellaneous belongings for, well, we'll just say not the first time, haha. I can only imagine how much time I'll spend day dreaming in that room for the next three months! Luckily my mom is out of town for the next two weeks helping my sister in law who is due on Tuesday-- yay! I'm praying she has a girl (they don't know the gender) so that little miss will have a girl cousin just three months older than her! So, I'll have to wait at least that long to get going on her adorable bedding and other decorations because my wonderful mother is a creative genius!

Maternity Clothes: I feel like I have fewer things to wear every day as my tummy grows and grows. Luckily my sister gave me her maternity clothes! She's quite a bit shorter than me so her pants were floods on me, but my mama saved the day once again and cropped them into shorts! My belly is so happy.

Cravings: Bubble gum. For most of my pregnancy I've craved bubble gum. First it was bubblicious and now its just the original pink bubble gum in the blue and yellow wrapper. I didn't really realize until this week that this was probably pregnancy related. I didn't care much for bubble gum before and now I eat multiple pieces a day and don't want any other flavor of gum. Random!

Hopefully these posts aren't too terribly boring to read. I feel like I never know what to say from week to week and even when I think of things to write about my pregnancy brain robs them from me by time I sit down at the computer but I want to document my first pregnancy so it is what it is :) All in all I just really CAN'T WAIT TO MEET THIS BABY GIRL!!
